April Updates – 4G

Hey everyone!

The game has received a couple of updates in April these included improvements to the save system as well as improvements to dialogue, quests rewards and equipment scattered around levels. You can read more about it here:

Update- 4G April

Small bugs:

  • Blackout sword sound effect fixed.
  • Edited dialogue lady farmer whose farm is being attacked by deserter orcs.
  • Fixed her house so players can no longer access it by walking through the walls.

Big bugs fixes:

  • Improved frames per second in Warlington town (First scene) with now over 60 fps.

Aesthetics:

  • Added a new set of armour called Knight Leather armour.
  • Added more assets to the roaster of armour and more amulets these will be added on later to the dropper and quests. More of these will continue to be added to increase the inventory and randomise the options.
  • Farmer lady house in meadow is now full of furniture.
  • Started working and improving lighting in Warlington town as Guy is supposed to arrive at night so made the scene darker.
  • Added more amulets, which will take place as rewards in some quests.
  • Modelled an amulet for the first amulet of health so players will be able to now see an amulet instead of a bag when they drop it on the ground.
  • Fixed the default drop sometimes it would fall to the ground now it should always be up above ground.
  • Added slight fog in the first scene town of Warlington.
  • Improvements to attack system, by adding a sound effect to showcase lack of stamina.
  • Improvement for level up FX making more obvious that the player has levelled up. This addition has been made based on feedback.

Second April Update:

  • I conducted an inventory of all the equipment, allowing me to note which were used and which were not.
  • I started using those that were not placed in the world.
  • Additionally, I began changing the inventory items so that players receive not just gold, but also decent items as rewards for completing quests.
  • I started working on editing the different dialogue options for secondary quests to ensure that players have various choices.
  • Farmer quests, noble lady quests, and the pacifist or aggressive paths for the Goblin conglomerate should work as intended and not be reset by the save/load functionality.
  • I edited the shops to reflect the new inventory that the keep should have and the dungeon goblin merchant.
  • I have fixed an issue with the Meadow and Cave levels in the interlink areas between chapters 1 and 2, where gates would be reset.
  • I managed to make it consistent when loading or continuing game. This final fix allows me to tell my story by being able to lock areas if a quest is not complete.
  • This is essential for how I wanted the story to be told but had struggled to incorporate it into the save system. Now that it’s fixed, I will continue to work on improving it.

Things that I wish to continue to tackle include:

  •  Adding more rewards to different quests.
  • I will start adding medium health potions from level 3 dungeon onward, replacing small health potions. Incorporating some form of additional healing options such as fountains might be a good idea too. This suggestion came from feedback I received recently from a player.
