Rise of the Village Hero – Coverage Part II
I have reached out to many more content creators and publications with the aim of getting the name of my game out there much more. Currently, Rise of the Village Hero is in a good state, with very few bugs and a substantial amount of content. With each update, I am adding more to it.
I am quite excited about the 31st May update, which will address a bug that has annoyed me for a while—shooting through walls, both from you and the enemies. Consider that fixed, as you can see in the gif below. 🙂

So let’s jump into the topic of coverage. When I first started my studio, one thing I didn’t have in place was a PR list. I didn’t have anyone with whom I had built connections to send a key and ask, “Hey, could you please do some content on my game? Share the news of my release?” This put me at a big disadvantage.
Now, of course, I can’t be too hard on myself. I was stuck writing my dissertation when I released my first commercial game, albeit in early access, and there was no way I could know everything. I considered myself quite informed, having watched hundreds of “what not to do” videos. But still, I am only human, so mistakes were made.
Not only that, but I also faced a lot of problems, such as fake content creators emailing me, asking for a key. In fact, when I emailed some of the actual content creators on their emails on their channels, they replied saying they had never messaged me and that it was a scam attempt by some people. This was really disheartening. Week after week, nobody released any videos. I attempted to use Keymailer, but that just didn’t work out for me. I’m sure it works for some developers, and that’s great.
So, last week, I decided to spend a decent amount of time sitting down and going through channels on YouTube and any lists I had to start making my own PR list. This is great because it will help me immensely in the near future for all my other releases.
This brings me to the main topic of the conversation: Rise of the Village Hero – More Coverage Part 2.
So, here we have it. The first video is from the content creator Tattman, who kindly released his first part here:
Additionally Indie Games EU released a new article/news (review to follow eventually) and the article news can be read here:
I envisioned that there will be more coverage coming up in the near future so I will keep you all posted of any further content creators covering Rise of the Village Hero.
Are you a content creator?
I could add you to my list of trusted content creators. Here are a few rules:
- Email me from a visible email address linked to your channel (e.g., if your email address is visible on Twitch or YouTube, use that one to email me).
- Are you willing to release content within a reasonable timeframe and not just request a key to check out the game?
If you are OK with 1 and 2, consider filling out the form here.
I will get back to you with an introduction email and we can start collaborating from there. Thank you for your time.
Thank you for reading and see you at the next post!
